There have been many end of times predictions over the years. Christian radio host Harold Camping faced widespread ridicule when his predictions that the world would end twice this year – on May 21, and then on Oct. 21 – failed to materialize.

But in the flurry of doomsday predictions – there have been similar dire warnings about the world coming to an end from various cultures, including Native Americans, the Chinese, Egyptians and even the Irish — the supposed Mayan prophecy seems to have held the most sway with believers.

Geminids Geminid Meteor Shower Video 13th December 2011

The Geminids peak the nights of December 13th and 14th this year, one of the better meteor showers of the year. Unfortunately for 2011, most of the Geminids will be nearly invisible due to the very bright Moon that dominates the late night and early morning sky, when the Geminids are at their best.

After all, Henry Jun Wah Lee, a filmmaker and photographer from Los Angeles, spent three days and two nights with his camera in Joshua Tree National Park to capture video and photos featured in the film below.

“Observers with clear skies could see as many as 40 Geminids per hour,” said NASA’s Bill Cooke of the NASA Meteoroid Environment Office. “Our all-sky network of meteor cameras has captured several early Geminid fireballs. They were so bright, we could see them despite the moonlight.”

Although the meteors will be diminished for the Geminid Meteor Shower in 2011, I'll still take a look, since a big shower like this has plenty of bright meteors that pierce the night despite moonlight. Prince Harry's Insolent Act of Killing Pakistan Soldiers

BAIZAI - Pakistan - Prince Harry has successfully carried out his first mission in the Afghan border region killing up to 28 Pakistani soldiers, reports have confirmed.

Speaking from his base, the proud prince said: "I bagged a load of p*kis today. My trigger finger just kept pumping those bastards into oblivion. It was fucking beautiful."

"My step-dad was a Muslim so I just wanted to give something back to the ragheads, like a few 50 caliber bullets, innit," Harry added.

Prince Harry even took time to go for a round of drinks before his first mission, and was said to have downed a jug of vodka, three pints of gin and sixteen bottles of lager.

"I've never seen flying like that. He swooped so low you could see the whites in the eyes of the terrified Pakistanis. It was like shooting fish in a barrel," Harry's co-pilot, flight lieutenant, Richard Moorcroft, told the Telegraph.

Prince Harry was meant to be greeted by his father as he returned from his first mission. However, James Hewitt was not available, so Prince Charles was sent instead.

Kapil Sibal Internet companies and social media

The Indian government has asked Internet companies and social media sites like Facebook to prescreen user content from India and to remove disparaging, inflammatory or defamatory content before it goes online, three executives in the information technology industry say.

“If a status update doesn’t have a ‘Kapil Sibal likes this’ response by default, it means that our filters have somehow missed it,” a representative of Facebook told Faking News, “We appeal to our law abiding Indian users to immediately report such status updates for abuse. Our team will review it and give it a ‘Kapil Sibal likes this’ mark if they find it clean.”

Congress MP and discredited ex-minister Shashi Tharoor who has made more than a fool of himself on the net, quickly broke through the high benchmarks he had set for himself, by first tweeting that he was not in favour of censoring, and then soon after, apparently after a meeting with Sibal, saying, via the same medium, that he supported Kapil Sibal: “Pretty vile stuff. Sadly public didn’t object2them 1st.”
