Katie Couric Break Up With Brooks Perlin

Katie Couric has split with boyfriend Brooks Perlin after five years, Page Six reported Tuesday.

The couple - who met at a 2006 fundraiser for cancer research - were "at different stages in their careers," according to a friend of the ABC correspondent, adding: "The split was inevitable."

"They have decided to move on," a friend told the paper, saying that things had been rocky for months and that businessman Perlin is moving out of Couric's Upper East Side home.

The two met at a St. Louis fundraiser in 2006. Speaking about him in April, Couric said, ""He's incredibly kind, caring and sensitive. He challenges me in ways I wouldn't be challenged otherwise. Even if we are not on the same page all the time, I like being in his space."
